Why SFUSD?

SFUSD offers world-class education with outcomes that rival and exceed local private options. With a 76.5% UC acceptance rate and richly diverse student bodies, public schools prepare students for both academic success and life in a pluralistic society.

The district serves approximately 49,000 students across one of America's most dynamic cities, with programs ranging from dual language immersion to STEM academies.

The Challenge

While 30% of San Francisco's school-age children are White, only 13% of SFUSD students are White. Local private schools are approximately 60% White. This opt-out pattern drains critical funding from public schools.

Each student who leaves takes $10,000+ in annual operating budget — while fixed costs remain the same. We're working to reverse this trend with accurate information and community outreach.
